This model simulates a complete automobile drive train including the engine, clutch, 5 speed manual transmission with reverse, locking differential and drive wheels. This working model is ideal for teaching how modern automobile transmissions and differentials work. You can watch how the shift forks move the drive from gear to gear while you use the clutch and shifter to go through the gears. The differential has a cutaway so you can see how it allows the two drive wheels to turn at different speeds like when a car goes around a corner. Assembly is moderately difficult but very fun and you'll love watching it work as you shift through the gears. Controls include On/Off switch, clutch pedal, shift lever and differential lock. It is powered by three AA
batteries.
