Meet Our New Mechanical Jellyfish: A Closer Look at the Design Before Pre-Orders Begin
After our ocean-inspired mechanical turtle, another remarkable sea creature is taking shape at Moyustore. This time, we're bringing the mysterious, floating beauty of a jellyfish into the world of 3D metal model kits and kinetic sculptures.

For months, we've been listening to customer suggestions, reviewing early prototypes, and working closely with our designer to refine this new creation. Rather than rushing to launch, we wanted to make its appearance and movement feel more faithful to the living animal that inspired it.
Today, we're ready to share the official updated renderings, a look at the component design, and a glimpse of the work behind the scenes. We currently expect pre-orders to open within approximately two weeks, subject to final development and production checks.
Why a Jellyfish? Nature's Most Mesmerizing Movement
Jellyfish have drifted through Earth's oceans for hundreds of millions of years. Their translucent bells, trailing tentacles, and gentle pulsing motion make them some of the most captivating animals in marine life.
Unlike fish, jellyfish do not swim with fins. Many propel themselves by rhythmically contracting and relaxing their bell, creating a floating motion that can look almost weightless. Translating that fluid behavior into a mechanical model is an especially interesting design challenge.
That's what inspired our newest jellyfish kinetic sculpture: not just recreating a recognizable silhouette, but exploring how engineered movement and light might evoke the feeling of a jellyfish suspended in water.
From the Mechanical Turtle to the Mechanical Jellyfish
Our ocean-inspired collection continues to grow because marine life offers extraordinary shapes and movements for designers to study. The Steampunk Mechanical Turtle celebrates the powerful, rhythmic movement of a sea turtle through detailed metal engineering. The jellyfish takes a very different direction: delicate forms, a flowing silhouette, and a softer, more atmospheric visual experience.
We've also seen strong interest in jellyfish-inspired designs from our customers. Their feedback has helped us think more carefully about what a new premium mechanical jellyfish model should offer.

Built Around Your Feedback: What We've Been Refining
One of the most important parts of this project has been the conversation between our customers, product team, and designer. Early samples gave us a foundation, but also revealed several opportunities to improve the design.
01 · A more natural jellyfish silhouette. We revisited the overall proportions, the lower tentacle shapes, and the space between the floating body and its base. The goal is a more open, graceful profile that better reflects a real jellyfish.
02 · A refined ocean-inspired color palette. We explored a cooler blue-toned appearance paired with a darker base, aiming for a more cohesive display with stronger visual depth.
03 · Rethinking materials and individual components. Our early prototype used 3D-printed tentacle elements. We have been developing metal-based alternatives and refining component textures to create a more premium feel while addressing movement requirements.
04 · More lifelike motion. We're refining the movement mechanism and speed so the tentacles can appear more fluid and natural. Motor noise was also identified as an area for improvement during sample testing.
05 · Softer illumination and more flexible controls. We are working toward a more even, atmospheric glow, along with separate controls for lighting and movement, so the piece can be enjoyed in different ways.
06 · A more rewarding DIY experience. Instead of simply offering a finished ornament, the development plan centers on a DIY mechanical model kit for adults, giving builders a chance to experience the structure before seeing the sculpture move and light up.
These are the key improvements guiding the latest design. Specific materials, functions, and performance will be confirmed with the final production version.
A Closer Look at the Mechanical Structure
A convincing jellyfish-inspired model depends on details that may not be obvious at first glance: how individual pieces fit together, how the tentacles are supported, and how the movement is transferred through the mechanism.

For collectors of metal DIY model kits, the engineering can be as rewarding as the final display. That's why our discussions with the designer have covered both the external appearance and the internal assembly experience.

Behind the Scenes: From Prototype to Trial Production
Creating a new kinetic sculpture involves more than approving a rendering. Prototype reviews, material selection, structural adjustments, assembly testing, and production planning all help determine how the final model will feel in real life.

Our team has spent months discussing improvements with the designer, including how to balance visual realism, mechanical movement, lighting, and the enjoyment of assembling the model itself.
The product has now entered the final trial-production stage. We are continuing to check the design before opening the first pre-order window. The images shared here are official updated renderings and development photographs, not a guarantee that every detail of the production version is finalized.
More Than a Model: A New Ocean-Inspired Display Piece
We envision this jellyfish as a distinctive addition to a desk, creative studio, or mechanical art collection. Its ocean-inspired silhouette, planned lighting, and kinetic movement are intended to create a calm, captivating display—one that feels different from the heavier industrial character of our mechanical turtle.
It's also another way to celebrate the extraordinary diversity of ocean life. Jellyfish are part of complex marine food webs, and like other sea creatures, they remind us how much remains to be appreciated and protected beneath the surface.
Whether you're drawn to jellyfish art, ocean-themed home decor, kinetic sculptures, or 3D metal puzzles for adults, we hope this new project offers something worth looking forward to.
